Every few years, I do a full reassessment of my gear to see if I need to upgrade to equipment and to unload equipment I don’t use so that it doesn’t sit and collect dust.
I spend 6-10 months out of the year on the road, so while I have the option of buying things when I need them, I generally carry everything I need with me on my travels.
With more than half of my year spent traveling and away from Los Angeles, I’ve learned to live with less. In fact, it’s always a shock when I come home and find that I own things I’ve completely forgot about and don’t need on a day to day basis.
It’s been about 4 years, 7 months and 18 days since I’ve used a slider. We have a complicated relationship. I love the shots a good slide can produce, but in my travels, I can rarely justify carrying the extra weight and equipment to get that shot.
