The 7th Edition of Chefs On Fire is back and it’s returning to Cascais from September 20 – 21, 2025. Hands down, this is easily the best food and music festival in Portugal and it’s been so well received that not only have they been bringing it back year after year, but they’ve started doing full pop-up events in other parts of Portugal.
Porto, compact as it is, has a surprising number of museums. I’ve been staying for months at a time for the last 3 years, and I still haven’t been to many of them.
After years of having Porto as a base, it’s easy to forget some of the ‘touristy’ things that makes the city so charming for local and first time visitors alike.
For the last few years, Porto has been one of my bases, where I return to between long trips. It’s where I can settle into a routine and explore this incredible city slowly, like a local, with my friends here.
As a frequently returning visitor and part-time local to Porto, I’m lucky to have the time to explore many of the city’s hidden gems and unique experiences like a riding a luxury gourmet train to the Douro Valley catered by Michelin-starred chefs (yes, that’s plural).
