Time Is Nothing: Around The World Time Lapse

Time Is nothing Atacama Desert

After 343 days of traveling across 17 countries, I’ve finally compiled all the footage for my little show and tell slideshow. The video is called “Time is Nothing” and the song is “Places and Faces” by my younger brother, William Lam. The video was quietly released on Jan 1st and within a week, it picked up over 1 million hits between YouTube and Vimeo. It’s over 4 million now.

Million Views On YouTube

Along the way, thousands of people have tweeted, liked and shared it with their friends on Facebook. Some even passed it along the old fashion way — by email. It appeared on the front page of Vimeo under the Staff’s Videos We Liked and YouTube shared it as the video of the day on their Facebook page that has 48 million and counting fans. I could not be happier and I deeply deeply thank every single person out there who has viewed and shared the video, even the ones that ask “Where’s Canada?”, “Where’s Greece?” and even “Where’s Mt. Everest?”. Thank you for writing and telling me that my video has inspired you in some way, however big or little, and for all the wonderful words of encouragements. Below, I’ve included a few of the prominent websites and blogs that have since featured the video.

  • […] Although it’s a destination on it’s own, it’s also a convenient stop for travelers taking a bus between La Paz, Bolivia and Cusco, Peru. On the Bolivian side, I stopped at Copacabana (not to be confused with that city made famous by the song, that’s in Brazil). It’s the main town on the shore of Lake Titicaca and the gateway to Isla Del Sol, an island on the lake that makes for a perfect day diversion or overnight diversion. Before I caught one of the most beautiful sunsets over the lake from the harbor as the boats were anchoring for the evening. It’s one of my favorite scenes from my Around The World Timelapse. […]
